Welcome to This & That, a weekly round-up of our favourite finds, little joys, and things we’ve become obsessed with. From skincare and homeware to candles, clothes, books, and everything in between, each week we’ll share a handful of things that
have made our lives feel a little better, calmer, or just more us.
Some might be old favourites, some new. But all of them are things we genuinely love. If you like the sound of anything, the title of each product is clickable.
If you’ve followed us for a while, you’ll know how much we love to make our home feel warm and calm. It doesn’t feel like home unless we’ve got a candle burning. That said, for everyday use, we like something on the more affordable side. This one from Habitat is perfect. It’s £15 for a large three-wick and smells so fresh. We most like to use it our kitchen! It helps with masking strong cooking smells, too.
2. The Disappearing Act by Catherine Steadman
I’ve always thought I hated reading until this book. One of our friends gave it to us a while ago and it sat untouched for months (or years, even). Then earlier this year we decided to make reading a habit, and this was our starting point. Toby finished it in two days, which is unheard of for us. I followed straight after and loved it just as much. It’s fast-paced, addictive, and exactly what I needed to get into reading. I’ve now read all her books. They all follow a similar formula, but I love the comfort of that.
3. L’Oréal True Match Concealer
This has become a solid essential in our routine. It's lightweight, blends easily with just fingers, and makes you look like you’ve slept well. It’s subtle (perfect for people looking for a natural look) and it’s affordable, too. Which is always a bonus!
Neom is always one of our go-to brands. We’ve gone through a lot of hand wash over the years, and this is definitely one of our favourites recently. It has that spa smell we all love, and it has a little exfoliating grit to it. Perfect for the kitchen or bathroom.
5. Little Greene x Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir Candle
I don’t know about anyone else but I had almost completely forgotten about the Pomegranate Noir scent. When we were a little younger, I feel like everyone I knew smelt like this and it was the ‘it’ candle, and I almost went off it slightly. That and the Aldi dupe, was it called No.3? Let us know if you remember! But we received this candle at the launch of the collaboration at the Little Greene store in Chelsea, and it has re-sparked our love for it. There’s a reason it’s a classic.
A few years ago, we were watching one of Molly-mae’s vlogs and she said that moisturising her body every night had become a really important ritual for her to get used to her body and how she looks, and it always stuck with me. We’ve been using this body butter recently, and I am obsessed with the smell and the feeling of it! We use it at night and wake up feeling silky smooth.
Toby actually bought me this phone case for Christmas, but I ALWAYS get asked about it. It’s perfect for someone who misses the tactility of their blackberry but can’t quite give up a smart phone! They’ve also just released a new version for the new Razr phones (which we’ve been seeing all over TikTok) and I’m honestly tempted to ditch my iPhone for that! A flip phone, with a keyboard, touch screen and all social media. The dream.
We were so honoured to be invited to the Peugeot Attitude Pride Awards Europe 2025, and we both decided to wear some wide leg, pleated trousers. I always struggle with trouser lengths as my legs are quite long, and these ones from Asos were perfect as they did a longer length.
Toby’s are linked here, and mine here.
This is the perfect lightweight, everyday SPF! Toby’s sister actually bought it for us originally and it’s been re-stocked twice. I, weirdly, find a lot of SPF irritates my eyes, but I’ve never had any issues with this. And it’s normally on offer for around £12!
10. Rechargeable Outdoor Lantern
This little lamp has made our outdoor space feel instantly cosier. If you know us, you know we have a little lighting obsession and anything rechargeable instantly grabs our attention. This is perfect for the garden, we even left it outside during a thunderstorm by accident and it’s still living! It’s the kind of thing you don’t realise you needed until it’s on every night.
That’s it for this week’s round-up.
More of this, and that, next time.
